Dr. Shahid is a diplomat of the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation with a subspecialty certification in Pain Medicine and Spinal Cord Injury Medicine. He completed his residency in Physiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital, University Hospital of Columbia & Cornell. Dr. Shahid was the Chief Resident at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in Hawaii at Portner Orthopedic Rehabilitation where he specialized in interventional spine procedures with a physiatric approach to musculoskeletal disorders. Immediately after his fellowship, Dr. Shahid joined the Spine Center at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Thereafter, Dr. Shahid established a Rehabilitation Hospital in Riyadh, where he served as chair. Currently, Dr. Shahid has two clinics – one in NJ and one in NY. Throughout this process, Dr. Shahid maintains his faculty position at his alma mater, New York Presbyterian Hospital where he teaches residents and medical students.
